Time

I know a young lady who is often greeted by an angel, unknown in name, but familiar in heart. She always asks the angel questions, and this time they were personal.
"Why do people always say I'm too nice?
Why do people always ask how I'm so positive?
Why do people always tell me I'm perfect?
Because, I am certainly not."
The angel responded,
"Because, little one, you are happy".
There is no time to be mean, no time to have a negative thought, and no time to not give all you've got. There is no time to panic. There is no time for fear. There is no time for second guesses, grudges, or games.
Time is ticking, but it is not about the seconds; it is about the moments. Time is for the things that make you happy to be alive, the people who make you smile, and the places you can call home. Time may not be not right now, but it could be today. It is understanding it might take a year, it might take a day, but what is meant to be will always find it's way.
The trouble is, the angel says, you think you have time. You think you have time to be unhappy once in a while. You think you have time to get mad, to fight, to hold onto negative feelings. You think you have time to always rely on tomorrow. But, what if you can't? What if the clock stops? What if you didn't have TIME?
You would be nice. You would be positive. You would be perfect. You would use it, spend it, drain it, because you knew you weren't getting it back. Because that's it. That's time.
The angel says we cannot create time. But what if we could. How beautiful is it to think about WHAT you would "make" time for? How eye opening is it to think about WHO you would "make" time with? How amazing is it to think about WHERE you would "make" time to go visit?
Happiness comes from realizing that TIME is in our hands. We only have so much of it, but we can use it however we please. We still have time; it is still our friend. There is time for change, for love, and for hope. You have the time to make yourself better, to challenge those around you to be better, and to create a world that is better. Wouldn't we all love to live in an utopia? I don't know about you, but I would.
So, I hear you, what happened to the young lady?
The young lady is nice. There is no reason not to be. The world is already mean enough. Sure, go ahead, step on her, I guarantee it will hurt her, but then she will be better than before. She must struggle in order to find her strength.
The young lady is positive. There is no reason not to be. The world is already negative enough. Sure, go ahead, put her down, I guarantee she will be bothered, but then she will be more open than before. She must see the negatives in order to always find the positives.
The young lady is perfect. There is no reason not to be. The world is already imperfect enough. Sure, go ahead, point out her flaws, I guarantee she will be insulted, but then she will be more confident than before. She must see that imperfection is perfection to a beautiful perspective.
People will step on her, people will put her down, people will point out her flaws. She will respond with generosity, care, and compassion because that's all she has time for; she only has time for happiness.
She is nice. She is positive. She is perfect. She is me, and I am happy.
